The title sounds so MORBID.... as if I am leaving this earth.... :-P
Actually, I have tender my resignation & my last day here is 05/08/2007.... However, as I will be on leave from 01-03 Aug and 04 & 05 Aug 07 are the weekends.... my last day is technically 31/07/2007..... Just 20 more days to go.....
How do I feel about leaving?.... large doses of sadness.... Stay here been pretty fruitful.... get my promotion in 2006 (at LONG last).... my immediate boss is nice, even though a bit scatterbrain & no sense of urgency..... colleagues have been nice.... minimal politicking....
Most probably, the question on everyone's mind is "WHY IN THE HELL IS SHE LEAVING?".... There are moments when I ask tat exact question myself..... But I think the reason for leaving is mainly a change of job scope and environment.... I have been doing the same work for almost 5 years and I think a change will be good for me..... Furthermore, there is no way I can get another promotion till 5 years later (minimum).....
I do hope I am making the right choice.... my new job will be more interesting.... at least something different for me.... and I guess I hope after this stint, I will be able to do some lecturing or move up the career ladder......
